More on Foster visit

Ok, back again after much needed rest.  We are a little sad around here because Scott left to go home.  What were we thinking having him leave.  Well, I know, but we really miss him.  I haven't done this without him yet.  He provides so much laughter and encouragement.  Now we are left with three girls here.  As he was getting ready to leave we were telling Katy what was happening.  She went up to Scott and gave him a big hug.  It was pretty sweet.  She did have a few more tears this morning.  We are planning on just hanging out today and spending time in the room.  I think she needs a calm day to settle in.  We will have 4 more families joining our group tonight and then there will be sightseeing and meals together as a group which will be nice.  We are in the waiting phase of the process.  Most paperwork is complete.  We have her Medical appointment tomorrow and then the US Consulate appointment on Wed.

Yesterday was emotional for us all seeing where Katy and Samuel lived.  Getting confirmation once again that Katy was God's idea for our family was amazing.  The foster mom and dad remembered us and were anxious to get an update on Samuel.  The mom told us that she remembers the day we visited.  Katy had planned on staying at school for lunch for some activity but for some reason decided not to do that at the last minute.  She didn't even know that there would be visitors.  If we wouldn't have met her that day I don't think we ever would have adopted her.  God works in amazing ways and then to for the foster mom to think to even share that story with us.  I think I may have already said they were really sweet people.  They really care for the children.  As we got in the van to leave, the dad stood at the window and stared in with such a sad face.  The mom, who is cute as a bug and pregnant, stood off wiping her tears.  They waved and yelled in her window to obey her parents.  As I looked back they were holding hands, caring the leftovers from lunch back to the kids and crossing the street.  They are such nice people.  Can you all just say a prayer for this family.  They spend their days caring for a house full of children and love them and then watch them leave.  Oh yes, they want them to have families but as I saw in their faces it is hard to let go.

I posted another video of a little boy in her home that has a family coming for him.  His name is Jonah.  What a sweet little boy.  The family sent a letter for us to give him.  You should have seen his face as the guide gave it to him.  He hugged it next to his chest.  Later after walking around with us and getting some gifts he asked our guide if they were coming soon.  He is ready for his family.  He has hope of a better life.  He has a family that he is already feeling their love by the gifts and letters that they have sent.  It was touching.  Toni, I can't wait to see you hold that boy in your arms.

  1. Our daughter, Long Ji Xing, was looking at the photos. She said she remembers all "her brothers and sister!"
